The third Friday in September is recognized as POW/MIA Day, a time to remember the sacrifices of prisoners of war (POW) and servicemembers who are missing in action (MIA). Our local remberance is always the third Saturday. For 2026, that will be September 19 2026 at 11:00 am at District 56 at 8820 Civic Center Drive.
In Elk Grove, California, American Legion Post 233 coordinates the annual ceremony at District 56 with support of the other service organizations.
